NOMAT / Reversible Jacket (Block Checked)
-This season's theme is "After Standard."
-The big impetus for creating the 24AW collection was the background of the painter Millet. Although Millet is still popular today, he only achieved financial stability in his late 40s. His life was full of hardships. He did not follow the standards of painting at the time, but created a new standard in art with his paintings that reflected his own roots.
-Some of you may be wondering "Why Millet?" The reason is that I felt something was off when I saw Millet's paintings at an art museum in Yamanashi.
-A "new standard" was felt through Millet's work. This collection has been developed by replacing this with the society's standard = clothing standard.
-Standard items include denim, wool tartan and camouflage, with needle punch, hand painting and stone wash treatments.
-The textiles are characterized by what remains after stripping away everything using various techniques. In addition to changing the standards of materials, items and details, they are new, yet seem to be something different from pure newness.
-Just as Millet's creative paintings were created by exuding his roots, the very essence of the standards of clothing is ultimately exuded into clothes that have individuality and edge, and this is Nomàt for AW 24.
-The next standard is different from the current standard, but it is something that exudes the essence and is not pure newness, so we did not use the words "New" or "Next". Instead, we used "After" to suggest "what remains after ~" and to give a sense of something next. Also, by using "Standard", we hope that the collection, which incorporates fashion standards, will feel more familiar to you.
