Designer Hitomi Nomura used to work as a pattern and printmaker at Yohji Yamamoto. Until 2019, she founded her own brand - NOMAT in Paris. The brand name Nomat means "something that is invisible but exists in this world". It is a coined word that means "a fictional place that cannot be found on the map".
The inspiration comes from the word Nomad, which means nomad.
