Until now, nonnotte's plain wool series has featured
original development of basic materials such as back satin gabardine, doeskin, and poplin, while still retaining the signature nonnotte style.
We suddenly realized that we had never made a straight gabardine.

This time, we began material development with the desire to create a beautiful gabardine using worsted wool that can be worn all year round.
We used a technique called air tumbling for the finishing touch, aiming for a soft gabardine with good drape.
While our previous designs have often featured a glossy finish, this time we have a more subdued sheen and a more natural look that blends easily with your existing clothing.
We hope that this will create a new type of casual wear that shines with the high quality that is achieved through Oshu weaving techniques.

Since it's a solid material, I paid particular attention to the color.

First of all, for the color "Shark," I carefully considered finding a bright accent color to add to this collection, which is dominated by charcoal colors.
I added a slight cloudiness to a pale lilac-like color to create a dark worldview within a gentle atmosphere.
Charcoal is such a classic color that you'll almost certainly find it in your clothing, so I hope it will breathe new life into your everyday styling.

For the other color, "Black," although it's hard to convey in photos, I aimed for the world's greatest jet black.
The dyeing method is a trade secret, but it required many times the effort and skill of regular dyeing to achieve a jet black that is the pride of Japanese technology.

Every time I saw someone wearing it at the exhibition, it was so different to any black I had seen before that it caught my eye.

I really felt that it was a simply beautiful piece of clothing that was convincing just by wearing it.

The style is a new 5-pleat trouser.
It has a distinctive design with five pleats on each side.
The angle of the slant pockets on the side is matched to the angle of the pleats, so visually it looks like there are six pleats.

In the past, I loved wearing pants with lots of pleats like this, but I've grown tired of them now.
I thought long and hard about why this was, even though it was a design I really liked.
I realized that the deeper the pleats, the more assertive they were, and over time I got tired of that strength and had trouble coordinating them with other outfits.
I realized that nonnotte's 2-pleat pants and pleated pants all naturally have shallow pleats, and I make them with the image of making the pleats less noticeable when worn.
This time, I aimed to create a 5-pleat design that I like, but that I can wear for a long time without getting bored of it.

As you'll see when you try them on, they're not at all gaudy, with subtle tucks accentuating the flowing lines of the drape.
The high-rise design and straight-falling silhouette make these pants a perfect addition to nonnotte's new wide-leg pants series, and we're confident in recommending them.
