These are wide trousers from nonnotte, featuring a jacquard fabric developed exclusively by the brand.

Below is a comment from the designer:

Super 140’s Shadow Jacquard – Bird Plaid
This material is a nonnotte original shadow jacquard weave, luxuriously using Super 140’s worsted wool, suitable for year-round wear.
The yarn is pre-dyed in multiple colors and carefully dyed, and woven without sparing time or effort.
Shadow jacquard weaving is a technique that incorporates color, weave structure, and even light reflection into the design, so that while it appears solid at first glance, the pattern emerges depending on movement and the angle of light.
The pattern is not overly assertive, yet definitely present. We value this sense of depth in its appearance.
This material is being used for the third season.
This time, we have used an original check pattern as a base and overlaid a motif of birds in flight on top.
This pattern was born from the image of what would happen if the birds in the houndstooth pattern were alive and could freely fly away from the textile.
The way the motifs are scattered is carefully designed to look classic, while maintaining a sense of regularity within what might appear to be an unbalanced arrangement at first glance.
Not too neat, not too messy—we aimed for a tension in between.
The check's color scheme is not a bold combination, but rather composed of colors with similar tones.
From a distance, it looks almost solid, but depending on how the light hits it and how it moves, the pattern slowly emerges from the background.
The design doesn't rely on color to show the check, but rather on shadows and reflections to convey the check.
By subtly varying the shades of gray, a sense of depth is created without being overly assertive.
The pattern doesn't stand out too much, so it doesn't interfere with the overall styling, yet it leaves a lasting impression.
The check is only noticed upon closer inspection.
We felt that this sense of distance was just right for this material.
We believe this is a new expression of check, constructed with an approach that hasn't been seen much before. Although it's a very expensive material, there was a compelling reason why we absolutely wanted to bring it to life.
I myself regularly wear shadow jacquard trousers, and simply owning one pair, even paired with a plain T-shirt, creates a natural elegance in the entire outfit.
It's not flashy, yet it leaves a lasting impression. We wanted you to experience that power and uplifting feeling, which is why we embarked on this development.

Draping Five-Tuck Wide Trousers
The style is a wide trouser with five pleats.
It features a distinctive structure with five pleats on each side. While the volume is bold, it's designed to appear as a gently flowing drape when worn.
The angle of the slant pockets on the sides is aligned with the flow of the pleats, creating the visual effect of even more overlapping pleats.
As a result, although it's structurally a five-pleat design, the overlapping shadows give it the depth and appearance of a six-pleat trouser.
In fact, I've worn trousers with many pleats like this before.
I really loved the design, but at some point, I started to feel it was difficult to coordinate and too assertive, so I naturally stopped reaching for it.
When I reconsidered why I had grown tired of a shape I used to love, I realized that the "depth" and "assertiveness" of the pleats were the cause.
The deeper the pleats, the stronger the three-dimensional effect, but the stronger the visual quirk, the less freedom there is in coordinating it.
Therefore, this time, while intentionally using many pleats, I redesigned each pleat to be shallower, creating a flowing effect.
Following the same philosophy as the 2-pleat and shallow-pleated pants that nonnotte has offered in the past, the aim is to create pleats that function as drapes rather than assertive.
As you will notice when you wear them, despite the visible structure, the impression is very quiet and not at all gaudy.
The pleats are not exaggeration, but rather act as guides to create the flowing lines of the fabric.
The rise is set high, and the silhouette falls straight down from the waist to the hem. The fabric's drape and volume beautifully accentuate the body's lines, creating a sculpted silhouette.

Voluminous yet durable enough for long-term wear.

This is a new wide-leg trouser design, a reinterpretation of a favorite style, reimagined with my current sensibilities.
