INNAT / Hand Dyed Bomber Jacket (Pink)

The BOMBER JACKET is a staple item in INNAT's lineup.

Based on the L-2B type from the 1960s, without epaulets, it features a refined silhouette with unnecessary elements removed.

The lining uses an original brushed fabric made from a blend of cupro, rayon, and wool.

The difference in shrinkage of the wool on the reverse side, caused by the product processing, is intentionally utilized to express the natural puckering that occurs on the front and back.

Even though it's brand new, it recreates the look of a "perfected piece" found in a vintage clothing store.

The dyeing process uses bengara dye, a traditional dyeing method from Takahashi City, Okayama Prefecture. Using pigments produced from oxidized iron in the soil, a by-product of copper mining, each piece is hand-dyed. The bengara dyeing process gives it a deep, nuanced look, similar to chambray, where the underlying light gray color is also visible. Combining materials with different composition ratios results in variations in shrinkage and dyeing, which made achieving this effect through garment dyeing a challenging task. However, through repeated trial and error, we have successfully realized this expression.

This garment exudes a quiet presence with the unique color variations and depth characteristic of hand-dyeing.

It is reversible.

Regarding the care of bengara-dyed products: To enjoy the color fading for a longer period, we recommend hand washing with a neutral detergent. Wash separately as the color may transfer to other items. Do not use fluorescent agents or bleach. Dry in the shade after washing. The color may bleed in reaction to citrus juices. If this occurs, rinse immediately. Prolonged exposure to strong sunlight or artificial light may cause discoloration. Do not leave in direct sunlight; store in a dark place. Because this dyeing technique involves extracting dyes from minerals in the soil, the resulting dyes are similar to minerals and may react to metal detectors. Also, because the dyes are similar to pigments, there is a possibility of color transfer due to friction during wear or to innerwear or bags.
