NONNOTTE / Draping Overlap Shirt (Trace Bird Plaid)

This material is a unique shadow jacquard weave by nonnotte, luxuriously using Super 140's worsted wool, which is suitable for year-round wear.

The yarn is pre-dyed in multiple colors and carefully dyed in different shades, and then woven without sparing any time or effort.

Shadow jacquard weaving is a technique that incorporates color, weave structure, and even light reflection into the design, so that while it appears as a solid color at first glance, a pattern emerges depending on movement and the angle of light.

A pattern that is undeniably present without being overly assertive. We value that sense of depth and nuance in its appearance.

This material will be used for the third season.

This time, we used an original check pattern as a base and overlaid a motif of birds in flight on top of it.

This pattern was born from the image of what it would be like if the birds within the houndstooth pattern were alive and could freely fly away from the textile.

While consciously aiming for a classic look in the way the motifs are scattered, I've incorporated a sense of regularity into the seemingly unbalanced arrangement.

I aimed for a balance between being too neat and too messy, a sense of tension somewhere in between.

The check pattern doesn't use a stark color scheme; instead, it's composed of colors with similar tones.

From a distance, it looks almost plain, but depending on how the light hits it and how you move, a pattern slowly emerges from within.

The design doesn't rely on color to show the check pattern, but rather on shading and reflection to create the impression of a check pattern.

By creating subtle differences within the gray tones, a sense of depth is achieved without being overly assertive.

The pattern doesn't stand out too much, so it doesn't detract from the overall styling, yet it still leaves a lasting impression.

A check you only notice when you get close.

I thought that distance was just right for this material.

I believe this represents a new way of expressing checks, constructed using an approach that hasn't been commonly employed before.

Although it's an extremely expensive material, there was a compelling reason why I absolutely wanted to bring it to life.

I personally wear shadow jacquard trousers on a daily basis, and just having one pair adds a natural elegance to the entire outfit, even when paired with a plain T-shirt.

It's not flashy, yet it leaves a lasting impression. We wanted you to experience that power and exhilaration for yourself, which is why we embarked on this development project.

・Draping Overlap Shirt

This draping shirt incorporates elements of a wrap-style design, with the front panels overlapping.

Rather than a simple overlapping design, the angle and volume of the front panels have been carefully adjusted to create a natural drape through the overlapping.

The shadows and flow created by the crossing of the fabric are a major feature of this shirt.

Rather than being tailored to fit the body, the shape is determined by the movement of the overlapping fabric.

The appearance changes depending on the wearer's movements, creating expression in both stillness and movement.

A drawstring made of the same fabric is threaded through the hem.

By lightly tightening this, natural gathers and folds are created at the hem, giving a three-dimensional look as if it were tucked in.

The design visually adjusts the waist position even without actually tucking it in.

Conversely, wearing it without tightening the drawstring results in a flatter, more flowing silhouette.

It is a design that allows you to enjoy two balances in one garment.

While it is a shirt, it also has a nuance of a wrap top.

nonnotte's three-dimensional cutting philosophy is expressed through the overlapping structure.

This shirt is designed to look good without being overly structured, and its style is perfected through movement.
