The material is made from organic extra-long staple cotton spun into a thick 35-count single yarn. It was jointly developed as an original nonnotte material with Kaneta Orimono, a weaver in Shizuoka Prefecture known for the world's highest density weaving.
Its defining feature is that it is woven as densely as possible with a thick count.
The finishing process applied to the material this time is a clear finish, and we chose this clear heavy broadcloth in the hopes of creating a shirt with a more dressy look that can be worn tough.
The aim was to achieve a dressy look and a tough, casual feel.
First of all, toughness. Typically, shirts are made with a count of 100 or 200, and the aesthetic is that the thinner the better, but I personally have memories of shirts that wrinkle after just one wear, and the difficulty of caring for them has made me put them off.
However, if you simply weave broadcloth with a thick count, it will just end up being a durable casual material like oxford.
We felt that it was necessary to create a fabric with a high density and beautiful surface that rivals that of dress shirts. However, there were no weavers capable of weaving thick, high-density yarns, so Kaneta Orimono stepped up to develop it, and after many years they were finally able to complete it.
Since it's 100% cotton, it will of course wrinkle, but I hope you will appreciate the uneven creases that reveal the strength of the thick count as one of the characteristics of this material.
I believe that this is a charm that cannot be replicated with finer counts, and I myself wear it without ironing.
It is a shirting material that is unique in the world, so I hope you will enjoy its toughness as it wears in over the years.
This time, we offer two colors: a warm winter white, or snow white, and a new color, Turkish coffee, a very attractive color with a deep brown and a slight hint of green.
The style is
Draping Shirt Type A, which was also available in SS25.
We have named this season's signature style, made with three-dimensional cutting (draping), Draping, and we hope to release each Type each season.
This long-sleeved shirt, named Draping Shirt Type A, deviates significantly from the traditional men's shirt design with its armhole.
The main feature is that the spirit of the early 1900s, when women's couturiers were researching forms to create beautiful, three-dimensional shapes for the female body, has been reinterpreted and created for modern men.
Clothes from that era were all designed so three-dimensionally that the body underneath was no longer visible when worn.
The shoulders are dropped, but the shoulder line wraps around from the back, creating a volume that evokes a cocoon-like, egg-shaped silhouette, with intricately shaped armholes.
When the sleeves are lowered, directional draping appears, flattering the body and creating a new form.
The side seam connecting the front and back bodice is angled forward, and the oversized piece is bent at a right angle from that point, creating a textured look on the body. We hope you enjoy the different looks from the front, side, and back, creating a 360-degree different look.
The designer has been wearing this garment without ironing for five years now, and it still looks beautiful and in perfect condition. The potential of this fabric is truly immeasurable.
